Terms of use
These terms apply when you use Pratar, an app for practising spoken Swedish provided by KGW Software AB (“we”). By creating an account or using the app you agree to them. If you downloaded Pratar from the App Store, Apple’s standard licence agreement also applies; where the two differ, these terms apply between you and us.
Your account
You sign in with Google or Apple. Keep that account secure; what happens in Pratar under your account is your responsibility. You need to be at least 13 years old to use Pratar. You can delete your account at any time in the app under Settings.
Subscription and free trial
- Pratar Pro is needed to practise: answering questions, conversations, reading aloud, review drills and adding words. Your history and feedback stay readable without it.
- Free trial. New subscribers get 7 days free. If you don’t cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends, the subscription starts and you’re charged for the plan you chose. Each person can have the trial once, as decided by the App Store or Google Play.
- Billing. Subscriptions are sold and billed by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play), in your local currency, at the price shown before you confirm. They renew automatically each month or year until you cancel. You’re charged within 24 hours before each renewal.
- Cancelling. Cancel in your App Store or Google Play subscription settings, or from Settings in the app. You keep Pratar Pro until the end of the period you’ve paid for. Deleting your Pratar account doesn’t cancel the subscription; cancel it in the store too.
- Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their policies. Your statutory rights as a consumer aren’t affected.
- Price changes are announced by the store before they apply to you, and you can cancel before they take effect.
Using Pratar fairly
Pratar is for your own language practice. Don’t use it to record other people without their consent, to upload content that’s illegal or harmful, to overload or reverse-engineer the service, or to resell access. We may limit or close accounts that do, and set reasonable limits on very heavy automated use to keep the service working for everyone.
What the feedback is
Corrections, explanations, pronunciation scores and the conversation partner are generated automatically by speech recognition and AI. They’re usually right and sometimes wrong. Pratar is a practice tool, not a certified assessment of your Swedish.
Your content
Your recordings and what you say stay yours. You let us process them to run Pratar for you, as described in the privacy policy. The app, its content and its design belong to us.
Changes and availability
We work to keep Pratar running but can’t promise it will always be available or free of errors. We may change features; if we make a change that significantly reduces what a paid subscription includes, we’ll tell you in advance. If we change these terms, we’ll update the date above and tell you in the app about significant changes.
Liability
To the extent the law allows, we aren’t liable for indirect losses, and our total liability to you is limited to what you paid for Pratar in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can’t be limited by law.
